Ivey Engineering Promotes Scott Friesen to President

Scott Friesen is IEI's new president

Scott Friesen was recently promoted to president of Ivey Engineering.

Ivey Engineering, Inc., (IEI), a forensic analysis and engineering expert witness firm, recently

announced Scott Friesen, principal consultant, has been promoted to president of IEI.

Friesen, a mechanical engineer, has 21 years of experience designing, analyzing and testifying about HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems and products.

Friesen assumes the position previously held by founder Bill Ivey, who will continue to perform peer review and marketing for IEI. Friesen will continue to serve as an expert witness in litigation matters in addition to his other duties.

“Scott has prepared well for this role since joining the firm in 2010,” Ivey says. “Nancy and I are very confident that Scott will continue to lead the company with the same commitment and integrity that our clients have come to depend on.”

Friesen is a licensed professional engineer in 17 states and three Canadian provinces.

He joined IEI in 2010 after working for an engineering firm in Edmonton, Alberta, as a senior project mechanical engineer.

Friesen also has experience working for a university as a facilities engineer and for a major HVAC equipment manufacturer and supplier. Originally from Canada, Friesen graduated from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

He is a  LEED accredited professional and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
